In the West End portion of the Expo Line,
a fabrication yard, which is being used to build pre-cast
reinforced girders and pile rebar cages for trench construction,
has been opened. The fabrication yard is located on the
Expo Line right-of-way along West Jefferson Blvd and Clyde
Ave. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30
a.m. to 6 p.m., and the yard will remain open from July
to October 2007. Weekend / night work will occur when pre-cast
reinforced girders and pile rebar cages are moved to the
downtown trench construction site.
Near the Expo Line fabrication yard, two city of Los Angeles
projects are underway. One is the Air Treatment Facility
(ATF) along the Expo Line right-of-way from Clyde Ave to
La Cienega. The second project is the La Cienega Interceptor
Sewer (LCIS) which is also shares the Expo Line right-of-way
and runs from Clyde Ave to west of La Cienega. Both projects
will continue from July 2007 to September 2008. For more
information about these city of Los Angeles projects, please
