Construction on the Exposition Line began
in the fall of 2006. Work currently underway includes utility
and corridor improvements on Flower St. from Washington
Blvd to 23rd St. in Downtown LA. Those activities include
relocation of waterlines, gas, power, cable TV, sewer and
storm drains as well as roadway improvements, traffic control
and street lighting.
Utility relocation and trench construction
from Jefferson Blvd. and Flower St. to Vermont Blvd. and
Exposition Blvd. will begin in the summer of 2007. Over
the summer and into the fall of 2007, street closures will
be required to perform the installation of the top deck
of the trench. The entire trench construction will take
over 1 year to complete. The west end of the alignment
will be used as a work and storage area for the contractor
and be the location where the pre-cast deck girders will
be manufactured. All construction work will be performed
in accordance with City of Los Angeles’ rules and regulations. |
