Downtown construction activities include work on the 23rd Street, Jefferson/USC, Expo Park/USC and Vermont stations, including canopy installation. Street restoration along Flower Street, Exposition Boulevard and Figueroa Street will commence in March with significant closures in June and July. Finish work on the trench continues with track (rail) installation, power supply connections, and staining of barrier railings. Additionally, rail installation is taking place throughout the Downtown corridor from Washington Boulevard to Vermont Avenue along Flower Street and Exposition Boulevard. Reconstruction of the Adams Boulevard Bridge and work on barrier walls of the I-110 freeway are ongoing.
Utility improvements, such as waterline and sewer-line installation continue in the Mid-Corridor as well as rail installation throughout the segment. Construction of the Western and Crenshaw stations, which include canopy installation and platform work, is also underway.
Construction of aerial stations at La Brea and La Cienega continue with the pouring of the station structures, while installation of MSE (Mechanical Stabilized Earth) walls is underway at the La Brea, La Cienega and Ballona Creek aerial structrues. Construction of the pilings for the Venice/Robertson station is ongoing with a majority of the underground columns completed. Soundwall post and panel installation is also taking place throughout the segment.
