The goal of Expo’s Local Jobs Program is to work closely with the design-build contractor, FCI/Fluor/Parsons (FFP), to maximize the number of Expo community residents working as a result of the transit project.  FFP's goal is to hire local residents from within the Expo Corridor to work 30% of construction hours.

The construction field office located at Arlington/Exposition is open for job inquires and takes applications. Over 2,500 people have inquired about jobs on the project and have been added to the database for tracking and follow-up.

Expo’s Local Jobs Program provides referrals to Community Based Organizations for assistance with other employment and job training opportunities. A collaborative relationship has been established with four Work Source Centers, PVJobs and the Century Community Pre-Apprenticeship Training program to provide job training, pre-apprenticeship and job referral services

In addition to the Local Jobs Program, the Expo Construction Authority and FFP, have made a commitment to help DBE, small-sized, minority and women-owned businesses participate in the design and construction of Phase 1 of the Expo Line project, from downtown to Culver City.  FFP has committed to reaching a 20% DBE participation goal on this project.  As a result, the contractor will strive to award contracts worth 20% of the overall contract value for design, professional services and construction to DBE firms.
