The OIG is an independent and objective organization reporting to the Metro Board of Directors. Their task is to detect and deter instances of inefficiency, unsafe conditions, illegal activity, fraud, waste and abuse of resources. The OIG keeps the Metro Board and the Chief Executive Officer fully informed about issues affecting Metro programs and the opportunities for improvement.
